Woman Hires Her Own Impersonator to Attend Friend’s Birthday Party
News from ABC News:

When faced with a last-minute invitation to a far away friend’s birthday party, most of us would choose to send a text with our regrets or possibly a gift in absentia. But one creative Californian came up with a much funnier gambit.

She hired another woman to impersonate her at the fete.

Using the errand-outsourcing platform TaskRabbit, Marissa Rosado of Oakland posted an ad looking for a Los Angeles-based actor to appear at her friend Holly Langley’s birthday. The search led her to DaVette See, a theater graduate 15 years senior and a completely different ethnicity from Rosado, who was totally committed to the humorous stunt.

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. (AP) — One of the oldest married couples in New York will celebrate their birthdays this weekend — and their combined ages will be 212.

The Journal News of White Plains reports that Duranord Veillard will turn 108 on Saturday. His wife, Jeanne Veillard, turns 105 in May.

They’ll celebrate this weekend at the Spring Valley home they share with their daughter.

Veillard is a native of Haiti who was a judge there. He and his wife moved to the United States in 1968, raising five children while he worked as a hospital laboratory technician.

Though nearly blind and hard of hearing, Veillard still cracks jokes in Creole and does push-ups after getting up before dawn.

The Veillards have been married 82 years.
