Holyoke collective of artists and other creators known as Brick sets 1-year …

HOLYOKE — Celebrate Brick.

Specifically, the collective of artists, designers and other creative folks who comprise Brick will mark its one-year anniversary Saturday (Aug. 23) with a party at the collective’s headquarters, 384 Dwight St.

“We’ll have a table of art and goods for sale, and most of the art on display at the event is also for sale via discussion with the artist,” Brick’s Mike Stone said in an email.

The party starts at 6 p.m. and the public is invited, with $ 5 the suggested donation, a press release said.

The event at the downtown site will include live music, disc jockeys, live art, art on display, beer, cocktails, sangria, roast local pig and chickens, Holyoke Hummus Co., and more, the press release said.

The name Brick was a nod to the group’s context being in this old urban “very brick-centric city,” as well as an allusion to group members building objects and ideas, Stone said.
